TAMGO CONSULTING: OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY

Safe worksites, protected teams, and guaranteed compliance

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is a comprehensive approach that protects the physical, mental, and social well-being of individuals at work by identifying and controlling risks, implementing preventive measures, and complying with regulations, with the aim of preventing accidents and occupational diseases and improving working environment conditions.

At Tamgo, we offer an integrated approach to Occupational Health and Safety, which includes the preparation of: health and safety studies (HSS), health and safety plans (HSP), and health and safety expert reports.

Health and Safety Study (HSS)

The Health and Safety Study (HSS) is a mandatory document that forms part of the construction project, in which specific occupational risks derived from the execution of the work are analyzed and evaluated, and the preventive and protective measures necessary to eliminate or reduce them are defined. It is primarily regulated by Royal Decree 1627/1997, on minimum health and safety requirements at construction sites.

When the conditions requiring an HSS are not met, a Basic Health and Safety Study (BHSS) is conducted, which is a simplified document for smaller-scale projects.

Health and Safety Plan (HSP)

The Health and Safety Plan (HSP) is the mandatory preventive document that defines how the necessary measures to protect workers will be applied during the execution of a specific project. It allows for the identification of risks associated with the work to be performed, the establishment of preventive measures, safe working procedures, and the use of collective protection and PPE.

It is mandatory for all construction work, whether or not a project exists, and is regulated by Royal Decree 1627/1997, on minimum health and safety requirements at construction sites.

Occupational Health and Safety Expert Reports

An OHS Expert Report is a specialized technical action carried out by an expert with knowledge in Occupational Risk Prevention (ORP), whose objective is to analyze, assess, and issue a technical report on the health and safety conditions existing at a construction site or workplace, usually in relation to an accident, damage, regulatory non-compliance, or legal conflict.

It is conducted to determine the causes of a workplace accident; assess whether ORP regulations were met; analyze responsibilities; evaluate the adequacy of preventive measures; and issue an expert report for judicial, administrative, or out-of-court proceedings.
